That was odd, the light switch in the downstairs bathroom failed. Not the wiring, the actual switch. Replaced it and all is well. Scary though how jiggling the switch when the light wouldn't come on produced a bunch of electrical arcing noises.

We went to Play it Again Sports to look for a driver for me, something simple and sorta modern with a stiff shaft so I wouldn't have to keep slowing my swing down to make the 'senior flex' shaft on dad's hand me down driver work. We didn't find a driver I liked but did find a $40 putter for... $40. I didn't know what it was retail on amazon until I got home and looked it up. So no deal, but no screwing either.

This is maybe 1/3 of the clubs they have. They must just buy old clubs for pennies as advertising so word gets around that they have 1000s of clubs. They do have that, but 2/3 or more of them are pretty much junk. Maybe if you're looking for one missing/damaged club for a set you really love it would make some sense.

Nothing special about this mileage, just happened to notice it looked funny when I got home.

The Kuna showed up and I went and grabbed it Friday since I was already at the range when they called. It's pimped out using accessories taken off the house AR which has now been retired. In the interest of having less, I've promoted the Poverty Pony up to house rifle status now. The market for ARs is trash right now so I won't sell/trade the old one just yet. Market should panic when the republicans lose control at the midterms.

I passed the skills test for 'level 1' and did actual sparing (with the foam swords of course) so now I'm officially in the guild. Got my T-shirt and this spiffy magnet for the car.

I've since straightened the magnet twice now, I can't seem to get it perfectly lined up.

The woman swore she got a quail egg in the morning but couldn't find it when she finished with the water and came back to get it off the top of the hutch. She looked everywhere then gave up and checked the camera. Poe, the egg stealing crow has made an appearance...

Finished the door project blocking off the hole I cut to get under the stairs and in to the bathroom vent. I had to glue those metal strips on as the 2-way tape included with the kit was trash, but that was totally expected.

The feed store that delivers was out of hay so we had to run to the other one. Guess it will be important to keep something that can tow the trailer once the truck is gone.

Testing out the 120 watt solar panel I got for the van. In pretty good light with it aimed fairly accurately the most I saw was 85 watts for just a brief second. The rest of the time it's 70-80. If a shadow even touches one panel it drops into the 60s and this is supposed to be one of the panels that's wired in parallel so it doesn't completely fail if part of it is in the shadows.

I really need somewhere with super bright sun and no 'haze'. I never noticed how not clear the sky is around here with all the water in the air.

Gill posted the email I sent him about the broken optic on his instagram feed thingy. I'm once again internet famous.... well would be if anyone knew that was me.

Back from campFI, I survived. An interesting mix of people, all very easy to talk to. There were a few 'hottie' type 30-somethings I avoided, they seemed more of the blogger/IG types looking for content than actual people but otherwise no real issues interacting with anyone. Some LOUD breakout sessions and such but I could hear those around me within 6' which seems to be about the limits of everyone else with normal hearing.

Another thing, not a lot of phones. I mean everyone had them but pretty much no one was sitting around scrolling unless looking for something. During the ACA breakout session a lot of people had phones out to look up laws, access the .gov web site, etc. All on topic. I mean it makes some sense, FI people are more driven and less susceptible to media addiction but it's still interesting to see it first hand.

My badge and the photo of the sign by the road when I arrived.

We did group photos on this dock and on some amphitheater benches, presumably they'll share those with us at some point.

Lotta music at camp as well. I played in public twice, once very poorly in low light without my glasses and after a half a beer and the second in the cafeteria. In the cafe the chick with the acoustic (on the right in the third picture, Kim) sang along with my playing and said I was pretty good about keeping timing. Later I tried to play that Taylor Swift song from my songbook to have the chick from Spain (center in that photo) sing along but I couldn't get the timing right at all so we gave up pretty quick. At least I tried.

The camp didn't have any cats or dogs, their mascot animal was a peacock. That's.... random.

The van power system revamp #3 worked very well. Fridge ran the whole time, charged my implant and phone each night, ran the dryer box, used the interior lighting. We did 'van tours' where those of us camping in vehicles all parked in the middle of the camp and showed people what we had and I put the solar panel up just as a prop. It was up for 2 hours or so at 60 watts even without aiming, just had the van pointed toward the sun and the panel on the window. Not bad for $100.

I didn't take many photos of the whole trip which is kinda strange, but here is the van setup where I actually slept. It was just back off by the 'chalet' I was assigned to. There were 4 of us in that little cluster of huts so very quiet and everyone was respectful about shining lights around camp at night.

Trying to purge stuff again, motivated from the campFI minimalism talk. Sold the 308 bolt action, trying to work a deal on those two 100oz silver bars, have the scooter back up on facebook (super annoying) and figured out the 401k rollover from my Johnson account.

It figures that the day I do the 401k cash-out that the market drops and then it goes up over 10efore my transaction is even fully processed. I never can time the markets.

Sold the scooter today. Pretty easy transaction except I let the guy count the cash in front of me and I thought he missed $100.. and it turns out he did. I only realized it when I counted it myself before putting it in the safe. Oops.

A top 10 match finish! Haven't done that in a while and the big deal here is it's the BUG match and I'm the first one in BUG (optics) and everyone who beat me wasn't running BUG at all. There were 4 stages they didn't have to reload on and were using larger guns which makes a huge difference.

A video of the only stage I had Sean record. They're mostly small so less exciting than usual.
