I'm trying to make my home desk a little more ergo, raised my chair to effectively drop the keyboard height. Wondering how much poor body position is effecting the pain in my left shoulder. Kinda toying with making the center monitor the main one again as well so I'm not sitting crooked at the desk looking left.

Also, wondering why I don't put the months in order on the big list of journals. I mean it's no more or less work to insert each month at the beginning of the list vs. the end, but it sorta makes more sense with them in order rather than the reverse order I've been using for 23 years. Tradition?

Day 4 of being sick. Not COVID, just the regular cold thing I get. Missed my writing class, wasn't in any shape to go. That's sad.

We get some doc-in-a-box visits included with our insurance so I went. Standard sinus infection in progress, she gave me antibiotics and then I just use flonase as before (but now it's OTC). Hoping it clears out enough for me to attend the match on Saturday, but I'm not optimistic.

I've made it out of the house to Panera for writing group. So far, so good. A little sniffling but no coughing or sneezing and my sinus pressure is mild. I can almost, almost, taste the coffee.

Still not feeling motivated to write, but it should come to me in a bit. Currently just reading issue five of Dungeon for ideas. Old school D&D mechanics were really, really bad and every inn keeper is a level 9 fighter (retired) and there really were 1000gp gems floating around. Kinda funny.

Something wrong with syncing, but it can't be remote access causing it since I'm currently sitting at Panera and accessing home remote.... guess the office could be down but it doesn't appear to be getting that far in the process yet. Sigh. Write now, debug later.

Testing backup.

Long/odd story short, we went to dad's '2nd wedding' yesterday. For some reason they wanted to get the vows redone by a priest in a church, so they redid them.... in a conference room in a church like thing up by UNC. It took about 5 minutes for the whole thing, but now they're right with god.

Apparently when they first got married they couldn't do it in a church because her first marriage hadn't been annulled by the church (was long since done legally). So after 'counseling' with the church about what went wrong the first time they annulled it so she could get married a second time. Then dad couldn't prove his baptism had happened because his documents from the church had his real last name (Stein) and not the adopted Alexander he's using now so he had to go to CA and go to the church and get that sorted out (70+ year old documents). That was done on his last trip out there, so now they were ready to do the good deed.

Storyboard appears unchanged but I'm making progress on the story. There is a ton of work to do just on the first act, so even though I don't really know where it's going in act 2 I can put in a lot of time and get stuff done.

Freaky February weather where it's warm enough to fire up the pizza oven. Bad sign for 'climate change', but good for pizza?

The woman had another lesson today and she wanted me to go with to see the barn. It's pretty damn fancy, but otherwise just a bunch of horses. She was annoyed at the videos I took, said I only caught the parts where she was screwing up. Honestly it's hard to tell with dressage, nothing really looks like it's going on. Jumps are easy to figure out.

Printed up my new TAB for this week's homework.... this is actually starting to look complicated like real music.

Fight club for the first time in a few weeks today, felt really good to be back and moving around. Not totally over the sinus thing but good enough to move around. Wee!

10:49:12

Replacement headlight bulbs for the woman's car showed up (one burnt out just last night). It was cheaper to get on Amazon, Autozone wanted 2x the price for the same thing. Lame. Not as lame as having to remove the headlight assembly to get to the bulbs, but close. At least they make it easy to do... but what keeps things in alignment after I remove them? The top is bolted in, but the bottom two connectors are just press-in rubber fittings so I can't imagine those actually go back in exactly the same way when you disturb that 12+ year old rubber... Guess we'll see next time she drives at night. The 5k color temp on the bulbs is really white, should have taken a picture with the one new one and one old but everyone should know the difference between 3800k and 5000k at this point.

Now that I'm looking at the photos, that complicated ratchet thing in the middle is probably the adjuster, the rubber mounts really are just mounts, they're not then attached to the adjustment mechanism.

Backup test on M2 http-backup volume (after pulling script from mac-hv and modifying).

The woman's parents sent me this coffee they got free from some source. It's not exactly good, but I'm more worried about the rumored 2x caffeine content than the lame flavor.

Did a dealer trade for Genesis yesterday and it was a GV60 electric! Didn't know that, wasn't thrilled to find that out when I traded the gas GV70 for it in Charlotte, but it's range was "300 miles". It took me 160 miles of range to go 130 miles on slow back roads (55 mph mostly) and in mild temps so not a ton of AC or heat usage. That's not good, but it's way way better than the Subaru.

Oh, and why are modern cars so expensive and unreliable? Could it be useless 'features' like this?

Drove 15+ vehicles yesterday moving things between the old and new Hyundai dealership lots. Kinda fun.

None of the old farts wanted to stop for lunch at all, so I ended up grabbing a 'snack' at the Circle K right by the new dealership. Not sure which was worse, being hungry or paying $2.50 for this:

Also found this note in one of the cars. Wonder what this Korean dude was trying to tell us? Google can kinda help.

Today at writing group I had someone read a few sections of my story (for specific feedback). A little nerve wracking.
