We went to some craft marketplace thing, like a big warehouse with 100s of individual shops setup inside it. Lots of junk as you would expect but there was one little import food spot that had all sorts of Japanese snack foods. If they weren't $5/bag I would have tried some. That said, if my taste wasn't still screwed up from the surgery I'm thinking I would have paid just to try stuff like this:

The implant is live, and so far I'm doing way better than expected. It's not just 'turn on and hear' but I could at least make out voices right after activation and doing the random word test when I could see the audiologist got me 10 for 10. When I couldn't see her it was 5 for 10, vs. without the implant that's usually 1 for 10. So amazing basically. She was nearly jumping up and down with excitement that it was going so well. I'm not sure if that means I'm rare and special, or if she was really worried that it wouldn't work and was relieved that it did?

Setup great grandma's telephone stand to use as my charging and drying station. There is getting to be too much junk on the nightstand with the phone/watch/tablet/flashlights/other phone/book so this is a nice clutter free area to deal with it.

They've changed the bag style, but here it is. A lot more tasteful than the old blue and white thing.

Had a batch of some ammo that was apparently corrosive. I was checking over the G34 and after it sitting for a few weeks (because of the CZ using up my 'big gun' time at the range) it looked like this:

It mostly cleaned out but then I went and cleaned everything else as well. Haven't been shooting steel case in anything else but there was some rust in the G19.5. Now that I think of it... I think I did run some of the steel case wolf through that when I was shooting the defensive ammo test in it before staging. Maybe the 124gr hot stuff is also corrosive? In any case, something is and it's bad. Steel case is only supposed to go through the G34 now anyway so I'll just have to clean it after each session.

The circle of darkness at writing group. It's a shadow cast by the light above the table from the much brighter light in the ceiling. It's the only spot in the place that does that and it's right where I sit at writing group. Kinda funny, and a good conversation starter when new people show up.

The woman wanted some sort of cover for the goats inside the barn so I recycled the garden trellises that didn't work into this frame. She's covering it with a tarp and calling it good (instead of me getting some of that board material I used on their temporary fencing). It's removable, just unhook the one latch and it lifts out of the 3 attachment points.

More hospital pictures. Got my nose fixed, and in theory when the bleeding stops and the swelling goes down I should be able to breathe out of both sides once again.

Big bonus check from work as well. Was not expecting anything but they must be doing better than I thought to hand these out to those of us who barely work there.

The woman put the tarp on the frame I made, and is experimenting with a blanket on there too for extra warmth. I think Lugs will just pull that down in short order but we'll see when he's in there alone what he really does. For now...

Another year in the books. Time to rotate the journal.
