16th anniversary was Friday, we celebrated with sushi in the van. living the life!

Regular IDPA match today. I was flying on a few stages, and screwed up two others so overall not so good. Sean took a video of one stage I kinda sucked on, but he did the whole thing in slow motion. Doh. Here's a few screen caps of me running around.

Worked a half day Tuesday and did 5 cars, and was scheduled to go up to Creedmore on Thursday to do 10 but it fell through (new dealership, haven't finished the contract yet). Very happy it didn't happen, I didn't want to work two days in a week.

We went and hit some balls this morning, neither of us are in really good shape at the moment. She's got a big lump on her arm (swelling of some sort) from her latest plague booster, and I'm just... tired. Match yesterday, and then the "celebration of life" thing for our dead neighbor, and then socializing at the fire pit in the late evening... that's a lot of activity for me.

FG&G called and my LCP was back. They said that the slide and barrel were replaced and I figured they wouldn't lie. When I got it home and actually pulled it out of the box to examine it before storage and holy cow. It's an entirely new extractor design. About 2x as long, now looks like the LCP MAX extractor. Guess they've learned something.

Did I mention the other day that we had the alarm guys back out again because of yet another false alarm? This time it was my office motion sensor tripping. The dude tested it and the 'resistor' was out of spec, and he replaced it. He then checked every other sensor in the house and found 2 more that were out of spec. I guess it needs some resistor to hold a line value at a certain voltage (because if you just smash the sensor the alarm goes off which makes sense). That resistor wears out over time and then the voltage changes and it triggers. It looked just like any old discrete resistor, didn't realize those failed over time. I thought it was always capacitors that blew out of old circuits.

While the guy was working on something out in the truck I snapped some pictures of the documentation they have on our alarm. I figure... it's mine, so maybe I should know. :)

Another inspection today, my 3rd batch. Second batch at JT auto. I said I had time to do 5, they gave me 7, one of them wouldn't actually start or run so I skipped it. Compromise. Also good, because the one that wouldn't start was kinda beat up, would have taken a while longer than usual.

On the way back from Sanford I stopped at the range to test the new LCP. Only 50 rounds, but zero problems. Also put 150 rounds through the P17, and without Winchester ammo.... also no problems.

Finished up the carport project. I found the exact latch setup I wanted on amazon after striking out at Home Depot. Not sure how well that crappy metal will last in the elements, but for the moment it's exactly as I envisioned.

First cooking class is in the books. It was 95% knife skills as you would expect and I picked up a few things I wasn't aware of / remembering so that's good. The instructor whipped up some fish and a wine/cream/avocado sauce for us and we... made the pico. Yea. All chopping chopping chopping.

My first paycheck from the auction place. Not sure it's worth it!

Cleaning the house for the in-laws and I just carried on and cleaned off my desk. There were still work papers on there for some reason, pretty sure I don't need those. Anyway, it's clean now, you can see the actual surface.

I got these cheap PTZ wifi cameras and got Blue Iris support to add them in. That's cool, now I have some cheap to deploy PTZs if I need them. The wifi on them sucks, and this is why.... the antennas are fake. I took them off when I went to mount one upside down and was going to put them back on the other way, but there is no actual wire in them. They're not metal or wire, they're just empty plastic tubes. Pretty sure that doesn't work for antennas.

The woman heard the water spigot leaking out in the barnyard. Heard it. Strange. I checked YouTube for a video on how to adjust it which worked, but then the adjustment bolt snapped when I was tightening it down. Don't know my own strength. Or it was over-torqued during install, which explains why it was so hard to get loose. I have to figure out how to ez-out that thing out at some point.

I got a Springfield Hellcat to replace the PM9 as my 'deep cover' gun in the urban carry holster. I wanted something G26 sized but thinner, and the hellcat is 25% thinner with slightly more capacity. It's optics ready, and comes with usable sights right out of the box. I got Paul at FG&G to give me the 'old' SKU they had on the web site which had 5 mags (11, 13, 13, 15, 15) instead of the 'new' SKU which only has 3 and they're all 15s. I want an option to carry my small gun with a flush mag.

The woman harvested most of the basil from the garden and we dried it and I used the herb roller (that we usually use for pasta cutting) to actually turn it into basil flakes. She tossed the old dried stuff we had and replaced it with this, pretty cool.

Sean came over to help me swap out that burner that got fried after my last repair (found the crossed wire, oops) but it wasn't the element that died it was the switch. We swapped the switch with one from the other side and it worked, so I've ordered another one to replace that one.

This meal from cooking class doesn't look like all that, but we had to break down the chicken and fillet the breasts, use our saute skills from before to cook it and the veggies. Rice was made with chicken stock instead of water, a huge upgrade.

On a text thread while they're debugging some auction problem and someone sent this screen shot. My first glimpse into the back end of the auction.

2.5 hours including a stop for dinner and we have 3 new motor mounts in the van. Smoother idle, and nothing seems to have fallen off yet. The passenger side mount was so weak I could move it by hand, and the transmission side was visibly torn. At least I get something to show for the work.
