Way late, but I made our concrete kettle bell so we can do the rifle challenge stage from "Remote Brutality", which was done months ago.
The great hunter, the protector of the barnyard, the.... gets out of the way of the squirrels chitter at her too aggressively...

Actually played disk golf on a real course and not in the yard. It's way more fun that way.
Couple of country bumpkins and our goat...
I'm putting everything in the blog and not putting it here, yet this is supposed to be the 'source of truth'. Dammit.
Oil change in the van today, used synthetic 5W/20, but it seems the same as the old dyno oil with 5k miles on it. Engine sure is quiet when you're standing over it and it's idling, actually quieter than inside the van due to all the panels rattling around in there.
I did get over to the curtain lady today, she thought they were done but the magnets aren't strong enough so the heavy ones along the back just fall off. She's got more work to do.
Range day, I brought the flintlock and Tim blew up his AR with some sketchy ammo. Sometimes I wonder how his customers keep coming back, but maybe he's catching the bad stuff in testing like today vs. after it's out the door. Maybe.
Sean was quick with the phone and captured some cool video:

7 of the 12 eggs hatched, which is a pretty abysmal hatch rate but so far all 7 have survived the trip from the incubator to the brooder. None seem damaged or weird, yet.
Motorcycle is up for sale on craigslist, the forum, the work mailing list, 'next door' and facebook marketplace. My step mom got busted by the facebook police for posting my email in the ad though, so not sure how she gets pardoned for that sin.
Also up for sale is the Tavor X95, but only on the forum and the secret work list.
Two more weapons enter the stable. First is a Keltec KS7, saw it used at Eds and I jumped. It's 'used' as in someone owned it, but there is no evidence that it's ever been fired. No residue, no wear on anything, still has cardboard dust on it from the box. Got it for $200 less than they're going for on the forum, so priced right for a used cheap ass keltec.
Second up is a Glock 21 from Dawson. Got this for $300, with 6 mags! It came with the rail adapter which I was going to buy anyway so it's a good accessory. It's is (or was) full of Zev shit too. Springs were so weak it wouldn't properly reset the trigger. Why do people... never mind. All the OEM parts were there so I put it back to stock and now it's fine. Also removed some 'buffer' thing from the recoil assembly. It's some aftermarket thing that's supposed to 'prevent wear'. Yea, all those glocks wearing out from the couch commandos putting 100k rounds through them. Snake oil extraordinaire.
Long version of the story on the blog, short version is that the check valve in the well pump system failed, and the pipe coming out of the well head cracked and was leaking. Russel (same dude from the forum who helped last time) came out today and helped this time. Saved us a huge plumber bill, and now I know how to do a little more plumbing work. win, win?
The best part is we paid him with 2 dozen eggs and 250 rounds of wolf 9mm.
Banged out some quail egg zucchini bread last night, turned out OK. I used the little kids cups of apple sauce instead of a jar so now the unused portions won't go bad as quickly. Also posted the recipe on the blog.

MRIs were today and between the two meds, I didn't freak out at all. VI hurt when they put it in, and I could feel 'something' when the meds went in, but otherwise nothing. Now we wait for the bills to come rolling in.

Swapped out the dead battery in my razor, good for another 6 years.
Cutting board class at the Makers Space up in Raleigh today. Now in theory I should be putting all the details in here, but I'm going to go write it for the blog and then put it below all these images, or maybe I'll do it right. Sigh, all this double editing!

With most of my rifles getting shorter, and at least a third of the things I'm keeping handy being take-down or fold-down, the amount of dead space on the rifle side of the safe was getting significant. So... I moved the little holder down so 26" things will actually reach it, and then put the last shelf I had in on that side. A few minutes in the scrap wood pile, and with the last fuzzy sheet metal cover thing that came with the safe I made another shelf and now everything has it's own little cubby.
The van curtains are done! The van curtains are done!
