New barn plumbing, electrical cable and ethernet cable went in yesterday. Lotta cleanup for me to do still, they didn't quite finish due to it raining (about 0.6" in 15 min!) but I also just don't think they would have done a good cleanup job in general. It's not their house, they're not that concerned.

Photos are here.

Working on re-vamping the fire extinguisher situation in the house and barn. They're popping up all over in the house...

Have one real unit for the barn, haven't figured out where to mount it yet that it's both accessible and protected from the elements.

Success! 2000fps out of the 9x25. The really light 65gr bullets with the same 12.2gr charge got the average speed over 2250 fps. That's moving. One round I fired at the steel actually made a + shaped dent and you could see the copper wash around the impact point. Impressive.

The water faucet taped to the metal rod the old one was tied to was not going to cut it in the paddock, so I came up with this idea. Originally I was just going to make an upside down U shape and concrete that in (so it straddles the bucket that's buried under there with the gravel for drainage) then strap the faucet to it, but the woman was worried Decker would try to rub on it and catch his horn. So, to make it solid I had a number of expensive options, but went with just using 2x6 and doing a feature wall. :)

That one 2x4 was $11, and the 2x6 was $14, so basically lumber is up 400 percent now? Damn, good thing only gas, food, lumber, ammo, furniture, plumbing supplies, wire, hardware... are up in price or you would think inflation wasn't 'low' as the elites claim it is.

Huh, not generating one of the pages. Not sure why. Ah, the "400 percent" written with the percent sign screws up the perl script. That's unexpected.

Decker is ready for easter with his new hat. OK yea I mean it's not much but he's a goat and a dumb one at that so what do you want?

The woman's parents got me some coffee from a roaster there in PHX. Two types, but I had already used the grinder they sent along (as a loaner) to do the first bag and pack it into the coffee saver thing. Had a cup, it's pretty damn tasty.

The woman got me this, a bit of an inside joke I suppose. She said it's to remind me to stay sane on my trip.

Traded one box of wolf 9mm for half a pound of Blue Dot powder from a forum dude. Now I can make some spectacular fireball loads for the 9x25. The guy who did all the load development said that the Blue Dot stuff produced the most flash and boom out of any handgun he had ever seen. Perfect. :)

That photo is with the new iPhone 12 mini, and I got it by turning the flash on and then putting the camera over the bottle opening and blocking all the light. That was in total darkness, somehow it metered the flash perfectly to take a picture of the powder maybe 3" away from the lens. Damn. Cameras are getting good.

Happy birthday to me. Just dealing with the after effects today, feel like I've got a cold.

Trying to be arty. The Sig brass bulges when I load it, the RP brass is easier to work with. I think the Sig brass is thicker.

Some testing with blue dot 9x25 loads... fireballs in full daylight...

Up all night with diarrhea, cramps and my face got swollen (thought something bit me on the lip). Went to the doc today, got blood drawn and we'll see if they say anything. So far I've been using ibuprofen and tendril and just trying to walk it off.

Things did not improve, so the woman took me to the ER. They've got me on some meds, seems to be helping but now they want me to get an MRI of a cyst. Ugh.

I've done basically nothing since Tuesday, not working, not moving around, just laying down and watching bad TV. Sleep is hard, I keep freaking out at night and waking up and not being able to tell the difference between dreams and reality. Not fun.

Doctor follow-up visit this morning, whole lotta nothing. He's going to put the request in to the insurance company for the MRI, then when they approve I can schedule. Involves me getting an IV, so... yea.

Got the garden in yesterday, took a while in my condition but it's done. Going to do a few potted carrots and such sine some of the seeds are the 'container' versions.

Picked up a floor jack today, gotta fix the brakes on the truck by Thursday and it's about time I stopped borrowing from Sean.

Pulled the brakes off the truck and one of the pads was just gone. No friction material at all. Could be that the caliper was stuck and it just was wearing even, but it's the outside pad so I don't see how that's possible. Also, if the brake was that wonky I think we would have been feeling it pull. I'm going with the theory that the noise the woman heard was the friction pad breaking apart and being smashed in the rotor.

With the truck fixed, I got the bike to the shop. Normally I would ride it in, but with no one to give me a ride home this was easiest.

Purple flowers in the yard, and some sort of creature hiding in them.

The woman got this for me to try instead of ice cream. It's not bad, I mean you wouldn't confuse it for ice cream but it's edible, but it also caused me some serious diarrhea. So... that sucks.

Made a batch of bagel dogs to freeze, and a loaf of bread to go with dinner tonight (and toast tomorrow). I'm just baking up a storm here.

I got this, and while I realize it's a gimmick, I thought it might be a fun gimmick. Yes, there are phone apps and web sites and all that that can count down to a date, but I wanted something sitting on the shelf that takes no effort to check. It's counting down to 6/1/2022, which is the day of my last stock vest and in theory the day I'm going to announce I'm leaving. That is if I make it through all the RIFs, there will be at least 2 of them before that date.

I actually went inside FG&G, wasn't a line to get in first thing on a Saturday. They had a few guns, nothing I couldn't live without, but what they did have and why I went was to get another of those good retention holsters like I had for the XDm. I needed the wide version, but not the 'long wide' version to hold the G20 with it's threaded barrel. Just sorta goofing around to see what else would lock into it, and lo and behold, the P85 pops right in there and locks up correctly. Same settings as the G20. The P85 muzzle stops right at the end of the holster, it's almost the same length as the G20. It's a beast of a 9mm. Hate to say it, but Don had questionable tastes when you realize the G17 and G19 were choices at the time he bought this monster.

Got the bike back, and it was almost $1300 to get the service done. Wow. The upside is that the bike runs amazingly well now. The mechanic said the throttle bodies were so out of sync he called another tech over to look to make sure he wasn't crazy. I could feel it was off, had no idea it was that off. Damn.

They say not to share these, but since this is private, I thought I should put it in for the future:
