So I've been putting pictures in here but not a lot of text, just haven't been in a writing mood. Going to try to change that, because if I stumble back upon this in 20 years I won't know what was so special about a jar of jam.

More impulse spending. Well sorta. No, it was an impulse. The P7 got me enjoying some high quality stuff, and now all of a sudden I own a Tavor X95:

Why? Well... none of us have any experience with a bullpup style rifle. I looked at the Keltec RDB and the RDB-C which is the compliant one without the pistol grip that looks kinda funky, but eventually ruled them out. In non-panic times, a RDB is a $800-900 rifle. Now it's $1400. In non-panic times, the Tavor is a $1900-2000 rifle. Now it's $1900 (well $1915.25 with tax). So while the low end has gone up 200%, the mid tier has gone up 50%, the high end is basically untouched. So buying the RDB is (other than being kinda junk) a poor value in today's market. The Tavor is technically just the same as before. So, I went that way for 'value' and because it should be an actual usable weapon vs. just a range toy.

The woman wanted more lespedeza pellets for the goats, and the place in VA that makes them has them, but you can only get 2 bags and they won't ship to individuals. She was trying to order her 2 bags from Urban Chicken but they can only get 2 bags for the whole store and would only sell her 1 of those. So... she ordered them for local pickup and I just drove up and got them:

I was supposed to camp for the night, but the "hipcamp" site didn't work out, they didn't "approve" my reservation until I was already driving home. You don't get the address until approved so I had no idea where to go so I just bailed. Oh well. Another camping fail.

Vet came to check on Decker, he's screwed up his right rear leg. He's supposed to take the med he's currently taking, and then use this if it doesn't get better.

The woman wondered how Decker was getting political texts on her phone, and it's stuff like this that associates her phone with Decker. Everyone must be selling info to marketing companies...

The Kahr is back, and I'm not really sure what they did. If the letter they included is any indication, they just checked it out and put it back together. That's not very inspiring considering the extractor flew out and that spring was blown out the side. I've emailed them for additional information.

This little guy was sitting on the lawn next to the garden while I was grilling last night. Good that we have rabbits, bad if they get in the garden. Nothing really left in there now but some ratty pepper plants, but in the spring I have plans that don't include rabbits.

The woman has been using the hurricane barriers to keep the goats separated in the barn so Decker can heal up, but it's really clumsy in there. Those barriers were not designed to work from both sides. So, she wanted me to split the barn into a 2/3 and 1/3 area. Uh, OK. Nothing in there is symmetric, so the best I could do was this:

With the hinges for mounts it gave me some leeway on the length (137" +/- 'some' since nothing of the original structure is square or level) and if we want to remove it we can pop the pins out of the hinges and just lift it out. I split the 2x4s and sandwiched the wire between the halves. Had to get creative making a section that's over 11' long out of 8' boards.

She then of course wanted another manger for the other side, and an additional front door. I got the manger done, but damn, I'm way too tired from working all day to build the door.

Trying to do more interactive stuff together rather than just watching TV, and woman loves games. So we played "qwirkle" which is kinda fun, but... just like when playing Uno Flip, my first time playing I beat her. She's not going to want to play if I win all the time.

Trying to get this plate carrier to fit better. I think it's the wrong size for me, I've got the adjusters all the way as small as they'll go and it's still not really tight. It shouldn't be 'tight' but it shouldn't move around so much. I need a better cummerbund to do it right, but finding anything in stock is hard/impossible so I'll just have to make due. Trying the look with the new short range gun....

I almost got an iPad. Had the new one selected, sized, with the keyboard thing and in my cart.. and I decided "no". It would make a nice upgrade from my current Samsung tablet for a book reader, and would let me play some games and do email/iMessage without the computer but really it would be awesome when traveling. However, we don't do that anymore, and it's unlikely we will for another couple of years, so why get the latest when it will just get better when we're actually ready to go somewhere? So, I didn't get it.

The neighbors took down 3 more trees, and they had the tree people save me some of the wood. This is all sweet gum, will make great firewood. However, it's a little big...

Big wood can be solved with a big saw! After putting it off 6 months ago, or maybe 9, I went ahead and got the MS362 saw I had specked out earlier. They make saws that are just as powerful but cheaper, but they're also heavier and lack some cool features (like captured nuts on the side plate, which seems trivial until you've dropped one of them while working on the saw in the middle of a job and then spent 20 minutes trying to find them on the ground in the sawdust pile). Figuring this is the last saw upgrade I should need. It comes with a 20" bar, can drive a 26" bar if I need to get that big, and anything larger than that is probably not something I should be messing with anyway.

Ran it today, and turned the big woodpile into a bunch of rounds that I now need to split. Home Depot rental here I come.

Also did the annual pumpkin patch trip. Considering we always wait until it's "too late and she has to pick from all the rescue pumpkins we did pretty good. Since we got them from the field ourselves they only charged $3/each, which seems reasonable.

First attempt at hotdog buns. Oddly shaped, but totally edible.

Hot dog buns in action!

Last weekend Sean showed that he found a Gen 5 G19 MOS at a pawn shop in Wilmington for $600 due to a 'pricing error' they made online but agreed to honor. I said "if I could find one of those at that price I would get it!". Well, my Eds script malfunctioned and when I went to go check it, I saw they claimed to have 2 of them in stock for $609. I put it in the cart and it let me check-out, and I went down to pick it up and... sure enough, I bought one.

It's basically identical to the G44 which I really like. Roundy nose, front serrations, etc. I'm going to make it my new EDC I believe, I've been carrying the G26 with the G19 mag (with the adapter) for a long time now so going full G19 shouldn't be too hard.

The usual Trijicon HDs I would put on there won't work here, the rear site dovetail on the MOS is far enough back that the sight hangs off the back. That's the case on the G34 but it's not being concealed so it doesn't matter. For this, I don't want the sight edge cutting my shirts. XS makes one that doesn't hang off, and I found the tritium only front version on Amazon for $60. Win. While looking for them, Amazon showed a coupon for 50% "1 or more". Well, I'm buying 1 so I tried it and it worked. Got them for $30. Winning again!

Lugnut broke a horn off this morning, and the woman got some sort of sterilizing spray from the neighbor. Looks like spray paint to me.
